The collection contains four photographs of Pantops Academy, Albemarle County, Va., including one of African American servants with "Aunt Melissa" identified. Miscellaneous documents relating to Pantops include a memorandum of agreement between Edgar Woods and his son-in-law John R. Sampson, 1884 August 1, for the sale of Pantops; a deed between Henry M. Woods, Homer Richey, and Dr. Edgar Woods, Jr., for the sale of personal property on Appleberry Mountain Farm, 1926 March 2; a notarized carbon of a letter, 1926 July 30, Edgar Woods, Jr. to F. Bradley Peyton of the Southern Railway Co, concerning payment to Henry M. Woods for cross-ties; and a newsclipping regarding a cattle auction at Pantops. The collection also contains a dateline and reminiscenes of Pantops by Brook Woods Frautschi; an electrostatic copy of the 1904 advertisement for the sale of Pantops; and an electrostatic copy of two pages from a biography of Paul Goodloe McIntire discussing his gift of Pantops to the University of Virginia in 1929.
